Celebrate BC Day at our InstaMeet on August 1st

This BC Day (August 1, 2016) join Tourism Wells Gray as we get together to explore a couple of the most photogenic spots in Wells Gray Provincial Park and Clearwater, BC (the Gateway to Wells Gray).

Join us for a fun and social InstaMeet from 1-4pm in the Canada you Imagined. Meet fellow Instagrammers in real life, share photography tips, and enjoy this BC Day together. We will begin our Instameet at Spahats Falls in Wells Gray Provincial Park and end it by enjoying some local treats at one of the top restaurants in town.
Learn more about InstaMeet and register for this free event here.

1pm- Meet and Start at Spahats Falls, Wells Gray Provincial Park

A stunning waterfall borne of volcanoes and carved by glaciers. The short walk from the parking lot to the falls is lined by old
growth forests. The falls empty into a stunning canyon that flows into the Clearwater River. There is a BC Parks bathroom  on site as well as concessions available.

2pm- Dutch Lake Beach, Clearwater, BC

A small picturesque lake right in the town of Clearwater. The lake is surrounded by Raft Peak and the Trophy Mountains
and has a beach and docks that photographers can venture out on.

3pm- Finale at the Painted Turtle Restaurant, Clearwater, BC

A short walk from the public beach is a restaurant that overlooks Dutch Lake as well as gorgeous lily pads
and painted turtles for which the restaurant is named. Share your photos and unwind on the covered deck with a drink and a snack in the Canada you Imagined!

  • See the route on Google Maps. A vehicle is recommended for travelling between Spahats Falls to Clearwater.
  • All you need to participate is an Instagram account, and a device that can take photos. We suggest a good pair of shoes for walking and a water bottle as well.
