There is plenty of white-water to be had in Wells Gray Country
The Clearwater River is not just well know for rafting, but kayaking as well. With just about every class wave available, this river is playboat heaven! Long sections of rapids to smaller "play waves" on the lower river will keep you exploring for as long as you have time for. The North Thompson River and the big lakes of the Wells Gray Country are perfect for larger touring kayaks as well. There is also an annual Kayak Festival every summer, so keep checking the website for an update on this event.
Murtle Lake is the largest "paddle only" non-motorized lake in North America and is ringed with fantastic camping sites.
